Should she? Should he?

Again, she asks him a searching question as he stares at the floor,

looking for a loose shoelace, avoiding her smart, horizon-driven eye.

Truth is on the run again. His horse at the ready. His sword anyone’s guess.

He remains unconvinced for now, she realises. Do I mount and make another charge?

Outside plants acquiesce to the far reaching arms of the buffeting wind.

Squally fingers twist and turn at every whisper and whisker of life. Its shape echoes through

the window. Yes, she thinks.  Capture the moment and not the person. Look forward!
